Our vision for TWG is to be New Zealand’s #1 retailer for both our customers and our communities. We all have a role to play to help achieve this vision, so we as individuals and a group need to be striving to be the best we can be. To do this, we’re on a journey to becoming a high-performing organisation where we’re all enabled to reach our full potential, can deliver to set goals and exceed our customers’ expectations.


Leading ON for Performance and Development

To help us kick-start our journey, we refreshed our approach to performance and development at TWG earlier this year. We’ve called this Leading ON for Performance and Development. 


The new approach focuses on building an owner’s mindset by empowering you to define how you’ll achieve your goals; shared accountability between you and your leaders; creating better consistency across the organisation; and giving you the clarity, direction and feedback you need to continually perform in your role. 


Your performance is measured based on three goal categories: 

  • 50% is agreed between you and your leader; and is based on what you’re responsible for in your core role. 
  • 30% is set by the business and is based on how you can help contribute to TWG’s strategic priorities. 
  • 20% is set by the business and is based on how you can grow your capability and demonstrate our shared values.


You’ve also told us through the OHI and feedback, that you want to know how you’re tracking against your goals. So we need to have these conversations more regularly – to start, we want you to check in each quarter.
